Cardiac arrest is a life-threatening emergency, but survival is possible with urgent medical care to restart the heart.
Quick decision-making is essential to recognize and assess a cardiac emergency, call for medical assistance, and perform CPR, increasing the chances of survival for someone unconscious and not breathing normally. In this CPR course, you will learn these skills per Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, including using an AED, rotating first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and handling regurgitation or vomiting.
The course also covers conveying accurate incident details to emergency services, reviewing incidents, recognizing psychological impacts on rescuers, seeking help if needed, and improving personal skills and response times.
